Welcome to my studio! This page outlines some of my general policies and expectations. These guidelines are in place to ensure a smooth and respectful experience for all students and families. However, they are intended to represent a starting point and are in no way exhaustive. Some situations may be handled on a case-by-case basis.
🎺 Lesson Offerings & Rates
Instruments/Subjects Offered
I currently offer private lessons and tutoring for the following instruments and subjects:
- Horn/Mellophone
- Trumpet
- Music Theory/Composition
- Music History
- Sibelius (music notation software)
Lesson Format & Prices
- 30-min lessons at $30 per lesson
- 60-min lessons at $60 per lesson
💳 Billing & Payment
- Invoices are generated automatically via My Music Staff and sent by email on the 1st of each month.
- Payment is due by the first lesson of each month.
- Accepted Payment Methods (via My Music Staff):
- Credit Card — 3% convenience fee applies to offset processing costs
- ACH Bank Transfer — No additional fee
❌ Cancellations & No-Shows
Student Cancellations
- Please provide notice as soon as possible (preferably email) if you need to cancel a lesson.
- No-shows without prior communication will be charged for the missed lesson.
- Make-up lessons may be offered at my discretion based on scheduling availability.
Teacher Cancellations
- I rarely need to cancel a lesson last minute, but if I do, I generally try to schedule a make-up lesson. If we’re unable to make up the lesson before the next week, then your lesson will be credited to next month’s invoice.
🔁 Refunds & Lesson Credits
- I generally try to avoid refunds since they are a pain to process in Stripe (the payment processor). Any unused lesson credits will automatically roll forward to your balance next month.
🛑 Discontinuing Lessons
- If you decide to stop lessons, please give me at least one month’s notice. This allows time to wrap up learning goals and make sure no lessons are scheduled for the next month that would generate an automatic invoice.
